Malcolm Wilson Rally

The Malcolm Wilson Rally takes place every year early in March. In 2019 it will be on Saturday March 9 Scrutineering will be on the Main Street in Cockermouth under floodlights with the support of the Town Council and Allerdale Borough Council. In the past scrutineering has been restricted to entrants as it has taken place at M-Sport HQ but this should bring the rally to the people and allow them to see what the cars are really about. Also in attendance will be Motorsport Mugs, M-Sport, The Police will have a road safety stand and The Fire Brigade will be present. The event supports various community groups such as Nunwick Cricket Club, Garstang Canoe Club and Duddon Mountain Rescue and this year M-Sport’s nominated charity Hospice at Home will be present.

It provides 45 miles of rallying on the classic Lakes Stages, maintained in excellent condition by the Forestry Commission. The event is based at M-Sport Ltd, HQ of the Ford WRC Rally Team and is sponsored by the Team Manager - Malcolm Wilson, who enjoys watching for budding stars and helping out at this level of the sport.
