The Cockermouth Festival of Traditional and Historic Dance was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and took place within the context of the 2010 Cockermouth Georgian Fair.

There were 3 aspects to the festival :

• Re-introduction of Maypole Dancing
• Demonstration andteaching of traditional dance
• Demonstration and teaching of historic dances
